Georgia's Fund For CS Degree

Donation protected
I'm currently studying at the University of Victoria, pursuing a Computer Science Degree. I'm hard at work raising money for my forth year tuition and books. I have Aspergers, ADHD, and multiple learning disabilites. These conditions have an enormous effect on the difficulties of going to post-secondary. I graduated high school with honours and I've always been a hard worker and I won't give up no matter hard it gets, I know I can do this as long as I get the support I need, and my faith in God and the people around me always giving me the motivation to keep moving forward.

Living with Aspergers
Having  Aspergers can be difficult but it also makes the way I look at the world very unique, I wouldn't have it any other way. It's true a little stress for a normal person is like a massive whale to me, and understanding social, certain linguistically aspects and interpreting facial expressions are or have been difficult. Over the years with help from family and school, I have overcome many of these hurtles. To further improve and keep learning I am taking courses that will help me in these areas, such as linguistics, American Sign Language(Facial expressions), and few others as my option courses.

The social aspect of Aspergers is a major component, particularly for me.(Autism varies greatly from individual to individual, no case os the same) Sometimes the stresses of dealing with social interactions, appropriate responses, and what seems to be an insurmountable amount of studying seems crushing. I am learning slowly how to deal with the emotional troubles these factors bring to my life. This is a major reason I am fundraising as studying with the looming effect of debt is more than overwhelming for me. The obsessive nature of Aspergers causes me to inescapably obsessive about the debt(and other things for that matter) to the detriment of my mental health and studies. Financial aid, not in the form of a loan would help to me to keep a handle on these issues, and one day allow me to take on more challenges.

More about me
I've always helped out as much as possible at home, where my mother's struggles with health has made it hard, and some days impossible to function. She's been my rock, and life teacher, but is unable to work outside the home. My work ethic in school, and in life, has always been excellent, every teacher I've ever had has commented on it! I've never been one to give up easily, I will not go down without a fight. I love seeing how things in the world interact and their beauty so photography and writing has also been something I enjoy very much. Currently I am writing a fictional novel when I have the time.

I've always been quite the social person, despite the communication disabilities and Aspergers, I like to thank the ADD for this trait. I love helping people, and interacting with friends, whether it's helping them out or learning about them/being around them.

The Struggle for Money
Finding work for me was difficult, because communication is one of the areas I struggle with, coupled with a disability that gives me an extremely short working memory, but I currently work in a wonderful deli, and take as many extra hours as I can get, however, even at full time I won't even come close to making enough to cover my costs, so with this Fundme campaign we're working together! I've looked into other sources of income such as this campaign and this is the best fit. Scholarships seem to evade me so I need all the help I can get!

My family has also run into finical troubles recently, and I would love to help them after I get a job with my degree!

Please consider donating to my education for forth year(but not my final!), it means the world to me to have support. Thanks!!
