Help for Col. Potter Cairn Surf

Surf is 5 year old is Stage 2/Heartworm positive and came to in to Col. Potter Cairn Rescue as the healthy one of the two being fostered together, but she worried Foster Mom more because she was so tiny and more lethargic.  She started having breathing issues where she would wheeze and struggle breathing. The vet has diagnosed it as parisitical bronchitis, which we are treating with steroids when she has an episode.  Surf also has had an ear infection which we are treating with medication.  She has gone from 13 lb up to 17 lb with the help of special food and lots of protein in 1 months time.  Surf has really blossomed, she is a real mama's girl though.  She has the sweetest personality and loves her sofa/snuggle time.  She will make a great lap dog one day.  Foster Mom can't wait until she really feels good to see all that spunk and personality!  Surf is learning to sit this week and is such a good little listener.  It's such a joy watching her learn to play with toys, and seeing her little tail up and happy!  ​
