Can you imagine having a broken pelvis, a compound fractured leg, two broken arms and wrists?
A member of our community is in need of help! Tough Mudder and CrossFit Coach Kyle Railton's mother, Lori Mayo was on the back of a motorcycle on a warm Saturday in September 2016 when her life came to a sudden halt. A car that was in front of them, driven by an 80-year old woman made a quick, unpredictable U-turn in the middle of the road. The motorcycle that Lori was on slammed directly into the side of the car, sending her off the back of the bike, over the car, and bouncing onto the pavement. She was careflighted to the ICU in Reno where she was diagnosed with a broken pelvis, compound leg fracture, two broken arms and wrists.
It required multiple surgeries to pin, screw and staple her body back together. Since then, she has been released from the ICU to a skilled nursing facility where she is now slowly recovering. Lori has a great attitude and will survive, but has a long road to recovery ahead of her.
We all know that the cost of hospital bills are astronomical! She has been in the hospital for weeks now, and will not be able to return to her job as a pet groomer for months. Lori has not asked for this help, and has barely even whispered a complaint about her condition. She is a very strong, independent woman.
We are asking for just a little support from those who are willing to help Lori get by while she is unable to work. This will most likely not even begin to scrape the surface of her medical costs, but anything you can spare will help, and is deeply appreciated by Lori and Kyle.
