Coach Dempsey's Memorial Fund

For twenty-three years Coach Dempsey has dedicated his time to coaching, managing, organizing and mentoring within the Delaware youth lacrosse community. Just before the 2015 season he was given some news that would not only take him away from the family he loves, but also take him away from the game he loves. Coach Dempsey was diagnosed with Prostate cancer that aggressively attacked his body. Still, that could not keep Kevin away from the game. The lacrosse stick he taught with for many years now became the crutch to support him through practices and games.

 But, its Kevin’s first love his wife Fran, who he has not stopped fighting for. Kevin worked tirelessly since his diagnosis to make sure he could pay medical bills, house payments and funeral expenses that Fran would not be burdened with. It is with a heavy heart I share with his friends that Kevin J Dempsey lost his courageous battle with cancer on July 29, 2016
