Christopher Opolski Funeral

Donación protegida
My brother Chris was the most generous and loving person you could meet. His untimely death on Saturday, July 24, 2016 at the age of 35 (he turned 35 on June 21) is one of the most tragic events for his family, friends and anyone who has the opportunity to get to know him.

I would like to raise money to help his wife and my longtime friend, Michele, pay for funeral costs, any debts he may have accrued and to raise my beautiful niece Avery and her half brother Dakota, all of which he loved very much.

Both Chris and Michele are avid supporters of fighting breast cancer. They have participated in various fundraising events and always place the needs of others before themselves. They believe in various causes to help others. At this point in life, I would like to ask others to help his family and to be as caring and generous as he was in life to let him live on in our thoughts. I know he would do this for me and my family as well as anyone else that my have gone through a tragedy.

I would like to share a little information about my brother from my memories:

For as long as I can remember, I always wanted a baby brother, even when I was one myself. I asked my mom, “Can we go to the store and buy a baby brother”? She laughed and said, you don’t want a sister, I told her no, I already have one. I just want a baby brother. Little did I know that my brother was already on his way.

I have always been protective of him, his whole life, even from 2,500 miles away because Chris meant the world to me and has my whole life. Chris was my brother and my best friend, the best of both that anyone could have ever asked for. I am very thankful that he was part of my life, getting into trouble with me (especially at Grandmas), laughing with me (and at me at times), crying with me and having all the times siblings do.

He was always so full of surprises, like a sudden phone call to chat about the most random things, delivering impossible presents to you on a birthday or holiday to completely astound you, or to even play a joke on you, usually at your own expense. Whether he was trying to sound smarter than you using words that only belong in the dictionary, or just rambling on about nothing, Chris always got his point across to you and made sure whatever he said would have an impact on you.

My brother was a very loving person, he always put everyone else first, no matter the reason or cost to himself. He married our childhood friend and his soulmate, Michele and they had a beautiful daughter, Avery. He helped to raise Dakota from a little boy to a rambunxious teenager (much like Chris himself in some ways). Chris loved Michele and his family as much as any man could. He always wanted to do the best he could for them and always wanted to find a way to do better.

There is just so much more I could say about him, the times we have all shared with him and will always remember about him.

Please share your stories and photos of Chris with his family and myself
