We are raising money to bring Ruth Lightner's grandchildren over from New Zealand to be with her for Christmas.  Ruth is a Pancreatic cancer survivor and has been waging war with the beast since 2009.  She had hoped to spend last Christmas with her daughter and grandchildren in New Zealand, however 3 weeks before she was due to fly,  she found out the cancer had returned and she needed to remain here in the states for additional surgery and chemo.  She finished that chemo in June,  and we promised the kids they would see her at Christmas.  

Unfortunately,  the situation has changed and the disease has now been discovered in her liver.  She started a new chemo immediately -- she will not be able to travel to New Zealand and spend Christmas with the kids as planned.  We want to bring her daughter and grandchildren here to Ruth in the US,  but the cost is enormous.  We are seeking to raise the $10,000 necessary to fly Kelly and the 3 children over here to be with Ruth during Christmas.  Flight cost is approx $8800 -- the balance will be used to rent a minivan ($800 for 3 weeks),  and to grant Ruth’s wish to take her grandchildren to Disneyland ($400).
