Chicken Don for Tax March Chicago

$10,095 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 506 people in 26 months
We have updated our ask to $10,000 because our insurance carriers came in with a final quote that was wildely off the initial estimate. In the meantime us organizers are stomaching the costs so please help us pay for it unless you are mean.

Best wishes,
Taran

Donald Trump is too chicken to release his tax returns and Tax March Chicago needs a 30-foot-tall inflatable rooster to show the world just how big of a chicken our President is. We’re raising money to have the Trump chicken delivered to Chicago by April 15th so we can feature him in our march to demand his tax returns. Chicken Don has been featured on Rachel Maddow's show and is the iconic symbol of Tax March Chicago.

The balloon was hatched in a flock in China, where Trump Roosters were big attractions in shopping malls celebrating the Chinese New Year of the Rooster. Now they languish unloved and no longer celebrated in a warehouse in Guangdong. Money from this fundraiser will go toward the acquisition and care of the Trump Rooster for Tax March Chicago.  All proceeds cover the cost of the chicken and march, including permitting, policing, stage, sound, marketing, etc! Huge costs!

Hello, thank you for contributing and making Tax March Chicago such a success. We had great energy and Chicken Dancing, and even got angry tweets out of Chicken Don on Easter! My estimate for the crowd is upwards of 10,000 people and no major incident. Peaceful and fun protest. Our next project is the Chicken March on Washington, a mock military parade replete with inflatable Don's, inflatable tanks, and armies of clucking chickens. The President wanted a military parade for his Inauguration so we are going to give it to him. Join the group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1480038158707360/

As the lead organizer for Tax March Chicago, I take this money out in my name and take the tax burden to make sure that we have a big bad Tax March. We are using all donations for logistics and expenses of Tax March Chicago, which include sound and stage, permits, application fees, Port-a-potties, podiums, and Chicken Don. It's a big production! Thank you for making it happen!

Hey everyone, we need to raise $7,500 for our Insurance. Unfortunately our carriers provided an initial estimate that was wildly off, so we have to ask our people again! If each of you donate 1 dollar, we can make this. We are fronting the costs for the moment so the event goes on but don't leave us hanging unless you are weird. Best wishes, Taran

The raise to 40K is suggested as a way to cover costs of permitting, stages, sound, etc. Sister cities and we believe that Chicken Don is our best fundraising vehicle, and we need to raise a lot more for anticipated costs. Every penny donated and spent is fully transparent and held in public trust!

It's like Jill Stein conning people to raise money for a "recount" after the election. LMAO this is great!.. and people bought into it. They deserve to be taken as the fools they are.

As this is growing, would be nice to know that permitting is in order. Would hate to assemble so many people for a gathering that cannot move.

Yes, I'm wondering about the increased goal to $40K - what's up? I thought we were getting one 16' chicken for $1250.
