Please Help Char Fight Kidney Failure!
My name is Charmaine Parrish and I am 41 years old with a peculiar Tuxedo cat named Jingles. I have been battling Kidney Failure since early 2011, was forced to stop working September of 2011, and I am currently waiting for a transplant here in Philadelphia, PA. The average wait time for a transplant for the region that I live is 3 1/2 to 5 years. I have been on the transplant list for 4 years, 1 month, & counting. Prayerfully my transplant is around the corner. Won't that be exciting?????
With the help of family and friends I have been able to maintain my independence, travel back and forth to dialysis three times a week, shuttle to and from 6-10 monthly doctors appointments, keep living in my home, and purchase my monthly medication.
Over the course of 2015, I have spent a total of SIX months either in the hospital or in a rehab facility learning how to walk again.
Without the help of my friends I would be hungry, homeless, without sufficient medical care, and ultimately dead.
The donations I am asking for will get me through for the first 6 months of 2016 (January 1-June 30) so I will not lose my home or my health due to lack of finances.
I am asking for $8,616.00 to cover 6 months of expenses for the following:
Rent $850.00/month x 6 months = $5,100.00
Transportation 136.00/month x 6 months = $816.00
Utilities (Electric, Heat, Water) $300.00/month x 6 months = 1,800.00
Medication $150.00/month x 6 months = $900.00
I am currently on the waiting list for multiple income-based housing units here in the city. I expect that one of these apartments should be available to me around the end of 2016. Your assistance will allow me to be able to maintain my physical (and mental) health as I wait for more suitable housing and a brand spanking new (to me) kidney!
