Help Chance Get Surgery

Donation protected
We adopted Chance from Second Chance Shelter 7 years ago. Now, we need your help to give him his third chance.

Chance is one of the sweetest pups you'll meet. His favorite hobbies include going on walks, napping on the top of the couch by the window, and watching game shows on my dad's lap from the recliner. He is a loving, gentle pup who, up until this point, has had amazing health.

On March 11th, we discovered blood in his urine. After taking him to the vet, they discovered that he has stones on his bladder- over 8 of them. He will need a cystotomy procedure to get the stones removed. If they are not removed, he may face a life-threatening obstruction of the urethra.

My family has had a rough go of it. We have been left homeless after Hurricane Irene, resulting in us staying at a homeless shelter for months. My parents have undergone countless surgeries and suffer from many health ailments, leaving them unemployed and in pain everyday. Right now, my dad is struggling to pay for his monthly insulin and my mother and father both need expensive dental implants. So as you can see, we've got a lot going on.

Yet, through all of our woes, Chance has been there for us. He's been there to offer a cuddle, kiss, and his relentless affection.

Throughout the years, we have tried our hardest to show him this affection in return. While we can't always afford to buy him the best toys, the best thing about Chance is that he asks for nothing in return but our love and loyalty, and we have a WHOLE lot of that.

Now, I beat myself up about not having the means to spoil him with toys, so imagine how I feel about being unable to pay for his life-saving surgery? Your donation will be used to go towards his surgery and recovery expenses. The surgery itself costs around $2400. In addition, we are trying to raise the remaining $600 to cover the costs of transportation, medication, the bill from the March 11th examination and x-ray, and a bulk order of the special (and expensive) food he will have to be put on for the remainder of his life. As a family in poverty, we know that you may not have the means to donate much, but trust us when we say that ANY amount will help and be greatly appreciated.

Chance means the world to us. He has been there through all of our hard times. Now, we want to be there through his. Thank you!
