Central Florida Veterans Initiative
Spende geschützt
The Central Florida Veterans Initiative is a project to help our homeless and/or mentally ill veterans gain access to housing, mental health counseling, medical care, and much more. Florida ranks in the top three states for the highest population of homeless veterans. Florida is currently the home to nearly 5,000 homeless veterans. This number is unacceptable and we need your help to make a change in the Sunshine State.
Our goal is to open a non-profit organization and transitional home to serve those who have served us. This home will be a place where our veterans will live and gain the neccessary skills to transition back into civilian life.
Recipients would recieve services such as the following:
-Mental health counseling for PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, suicide prevention as well as other combat and non-combat related illnesses.
-Prepared meals, and other basic neccessities of life to live up to the standard that they deserve.
-Transportation to facilities such as the V.A., community activities, appointments, and retail stores (i.e. Walmart, Target, etc.).
-Programs that are targeted to helping our veterans transition into civilian life such as learning to properly fill out a job application, financial management/budgeting, medication management, employment skill development, life skill development, coping skills, and so much more.
What your donations will do to aid our warriors:
-Help us start our organization and gain non-profit status.
- Aid us in hiring a grant writer to secure additional funding.
- Help us acquire the facility and staff we need to house our veterans.
- Help us fund the development of programs and aquisition of mental health couseling services.
