Canada To Mexico Fire Truck

So motivated and impressed by Strathcona Sunrise Rotary's Convoys to Mexico, three Courtenay firefighters; Greg Lamb, Tanner Wilson and Kyle Lamb will be embarking on a delivery of their own. Courtenay's retired 2008 Chevrolet Colorado Fire Rescue Command truck will start its trek to Colomos, Mexico to be used to service its mountaintop community. The three will stop in Tacoma Washington to load equipment from the warehouses of Firefighters Crossing Borders along with fire fighter turn out gear that has been donated by the Courtenay Fire Department.
"We will usually arrive at an accident with no equipment. We comfort and pray with our patients until they die". This is what one volunteer told Ryan Thorburn at last year’s training exercise in Bucerias where 75 volunteers from around Puerto Vallarta took part in 4 days of lessons. We feel the area around Puerto Vallarta is an unofficial bedroom community of the Comox Valley and surrounding areas as many Canadians from the area spend large amounts of their year in the area. This will be a welcome addition to the ambulances that have been delivered to the area in the past few years. It will carry equipment and provide transport for the fire fighters during emergencies.
Greg, Tanner and Kyle would like to leave Courtenay in November to start this delivery. They will be trying to raise funds until then to augment the costs of the vehicle delivery and travel. Please consider this worthwhile cause and help them on their way.
