For Children of Imprisoned Parents

Donation protected
Twelve years ago, I suffered from PTSD. My mother's incarceration played a big role in my diagnosis. Because of this victimization, I want to stand up for all the children who have suffered similarly.

Three years ago, I started researching parental incarceration in Iran - where I was born - and in the United States, where I am living currently. Last year, I started a non-profit organization, Children of Imprisoned Parents International (COIPI).  COIPI's mission is to fight against the stigma and victimization of children with imprisoned parents.

Since founding COIPI I have been managing it in tandem with supervising a restaurant (Panera Bread). I have been tirelessly working to make COIPI a place of comfort and support for families facing incarceration.  As a result of my efforts, more and more people in Iran know this organization and are benefiting from it.  In parallel I have begin building relationships with professionals, community service organizations, and local government organizations in Washington, DC and Virginia.

Recently, COIPI started a parenting and educational plan to work with schools and libraries in the DC area. The program will help educate parents, teachers, social workers, and other community service organizations about the problems children face and how they can nurture and support them.

As President of COIPI, I face many challenges making this work. I know that I will face these challenges for some time as the company's founder.  I am working on COIPI's 501(c)(3) status.  I have recruited a Board of Directors and am beginning to apply for grants to stand up the organization and for specific projects we are currently working on. This process takes time, money and expertise.

For the next four months, I am looking for donations that will allow me focus on COIPI's work. Donations would help me keep the website active, start volunteer opportunities and develop infrastructure for the organization. In order to meet my needs, I am looking for a total of $4,000 to support me over the next 4 months. .

Would you please consider making a donation?

Feel free to ask any questions about COIPI and my role in the organization.

You can support me in any way, but, the easiest way is donating once or periodically from website:

Thank you for your time and support.
