Carmel High School Class of 2019
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends of Carmel High School,
The Freshman Class of Carmel High School is about to begin its one time fundraising campaign which supports student activities for the next three years. Three years ago, we suspended the tradition of the magazine sale and moved strictly to accepting donations. This transition has been extremely successful because moving to a donation format makes it easier for parents and students to participate in the fundraiser---no more selling, no more buying unwanted items. This also allows for the money generated by the campaign to stay within the district and to support the school sponsored activities.
We have a long-standing tradition here at CHS—each class during its four-year tenure conducts only one money-making project. The donations received from this fundraiser support many activities [graduation, homecoming, and prom] for the Class of 2019, but the primary financial need centers on the expense of graduation, in particular the pre-graduation dinner. Before the graduation ceremony, all seniors meet together one final time for dinner. The dinner typically costs approximately $12 per student.
I have estimated that for the Class of 2019 to be able to fund that dinner as well as pay for expenses associated with homecoming and prom, each student is responsible for a one-time payment of $16.
Our goal is for every member of the Class of 2019 to help with the costs of these traditional high school experiences.
