Joshua received his Buddy Bike for Christmas! Thank you all for helping to make this happen. Here's a message and note of appreciation from Mom:
"Joshua absolutely loves his buddy buddy! I didn't realize how much he understood until this Christmas with his buddy bike. When I asked my husband Roy to bring in Joshua's Christmas present Joshua started jumping and smiling and getting more excited than I've ever seen him.. I know he's heard me talking about the Buddy bike. When Roy brought the bike to Joshua he immediately started to get on it and got so excited that we ended up ruding it in the front yard at 9:00 pm. He's riding it every day and now his sister is even helping him. The bike is so easy to maneuver. Thank you so much! Some friends even gave our family to really nice bikes that they had in their garage and we're using. So today four of us went riding and had a lot of fun. The weather in Texas is great for bike riding. We are so thankful to everyone that gave towards our buddy bike. Please let people know that their gift is a huge blessing!"

BUDDY BIKES FOR CHRISTMAS - JOSHUA
Congratulations Joshua Kelly! Joshua has been selected to participate in our 2nd Annual Buddy Bikes for Christmas program. Joshua has been offered a discount and has until 12/1/16 to meet the fundraising goal of $2,298 to receive a Buddy Bike in time for Christmas!
Joshua's family has been trying for several months to find assistance to purchase a Buddy Bike but funding options in their state have not been available and they have hit many walls in their requests. We at Buddy Bike, hope this opportunity will give them the break they have been looking for.
Joshua's Mom says, "Joshua is a very happy boy who loves people; however, with Down Syndrome and autism his communication and learning are very much different than his sisters. He loves being outside and being involved in lots of swinging, movement and activity. Because Joshua is 13 almost 14 a Buddy Bike would greatly help his well being and development. He needs more activity! With Christmas and his birthday (February 6th) being close this is a wonderful time to get him something that will be such a nice gift! Most of all a Buddy Bike would help our whole family of six to have some amazing family time together!"

BUDDY BIKES FOR CHRISTMAS
Buddy Bike, LLC is raising funds to provide 1 Buddy Bikes to a special need child for Christmas (or whichever holiday you celebrate)! The fundraising goal must be met by December 1, 2016 in order for the child to receive a Buddy Bike by December 20, 2016. Fundraising goal includes Buddy Bike (model selected by family), basic dual leg kickstand, fold-out foot pegs, domestic U.S. shipping & handling, bike assembly at a local bike shop and fundraising system processing fees.
Please consider a contribution to help a child realize the freedom that only a bicycle can offer! Contributions are not tax deductible. Any unused funds will be donated to www.nanaswish.org or www.ambucs.org in support of adaptive cycling and bringing bicycles to people with disabilities.
Each year we participate in The Great Bike Giveaway by The Friendship Circle. We decided giving away bikes once per year was not enough. With your help, we hope to give away more! Your funds will help provide a Buddy Bike to a special family and will contribute toward building more Buddy Bikes for the people who need them most.
BUDDY BIKES FOR CHRISTMAS - SELECTION PROCESS HAS ENDED
Buddy Bike, LLC is seeking a family with a special needs child to participate in the 2nd Annual Buddy Bikes for Christmas (or other December holiday) program!
This program offers an opportunity to receive ONE Buddy Bike at a reduced rate to a family who meets the eligibility requirements. If you meet the requirements below, please contact [email redacted] or [phone redacted].
All submissions must be received by Wednesday, October 26, 2016. I will select a family to participate on Thursday, October 27, 2016.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1) The family must have applied for funding for a Buddy Bike and been denied. The denial letter must be provided as proof.
2) The family must be willing to fund raise on their own to improve their chances at raising the funds by the December 1, 2016 deadline.
3) The fundraising goal will be determined based on the bike model and accessory selection of the family.
4) The family understands that Buddy Bike will assist with the fundraising promotion but can’t guarantee that the funds will be raised within the deadline or that a family will receive a Buddy Bike.
5) The family understands that if the fundraising goal is not met, any unused funds will be donated to either www.nanaswish.org or www.ambucs.org in support of adaptive cycling.
Suggestions for fundraising include sharing the fundraising link with friends, family, co-workers and others on your e-mail list and on your social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. You may also create a flyer that you can spread around town.
You may use text similar to this, “Buddy Bike has provided a discounted price and an excellent opportunity for my child to receive a Buddy Bike but we need everyone’s help to make his/her Christmas wish come true!”
The Buddy Bike® is the alternative inline tandem bicycle (bicycle for two) that places the stoker (smaller rider) in the front seat while the rear rider controls the steering. The features of the Buddy Bike offer adaptive outdoor recreation and therapeutic activity to riders with cognitive or physical disabilities who may not be able to ride a bicycle safely on their own or who do not have the strength to pedal a bike alone. The Buddy Bike allows riders with autism, down syndrome, sight impairment or other disabilities to experience the thrill of riding a bicycle with the whole family. They are no longer left behind!
