OUR STORY:
Erin & Nathan always imagined having children.  Erin thought they’d fill the extra rooms of their home with two or three red-haired Bruner Babies, Nathan often said he wanted as many as it took to have a boy (ha!). Their families knew that, boys or girls, one or ten (yikes), those kids would be loved and cared for.  After four years of marriage, career advancements for both, and purchasing their 1st home, they were ready to begin their journey to parenthood.

No one was prepared for what was to come.  After 12 months of negative pregnancy tests, Erin went to see her doctor and was referred for testing.  They quickly learned that natural conception was not an option for them and their only chance to become pregnant would be through surgical removal of Erin's fallopian tubes followed with In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF).

As you can imagine, it’s been a sad and emotional time for them and their families. The diagnosis and treatment alone have been difficult to accept and they have already faced many additional, and seemingly unnecessary, barriers and challenges.

After several tests, countless hours of research, conversations with physicians, and a 2nd opinion, the path forward (surgery & IVF) has been confirmed.

Insurance coverage for infertility is not common and neither Erin nor Nathan work in organizations that offer infertility coverage.  Due to Erin’s diagnosis, her fallopian tubes need to be removed prior to beginning an IVF treatment.  This is because the tubes are holding hazardous fluid that could negatively impact an embryo and significantly reduce the chances of IVF success.  As a self-pay patient, the surgery alone will cost around $10,000.  After surgery, they will move forward with IVF treatments,  which will cost an additional $20,000.

WHY WE ARE ASKING FOR HELP:
Asking for help is always hard.  Erin & Nathan struggled deeply with us putting this out there.  Not only is this experience intensely emotional, it’s also sensitive and personal.  Nathan & Erin are hard-working and consider themselves fortunate in many ways, but this diagnosis and expense has taken a toll already.  They know they are extremely fortunate, and continue to remain hopeful.

In the end, expenses will likely reach near $30,000.  We are hoping to raise $15,000 through the support & generosity of our loved ones and our network of friends.  If we can help alleviate one/some, of the many stresses of their current situation, the impact will be beyond significant.
