Water Is Life - Borehole Fund

Donation protected
Water here in the U.S. is readily available to us whenever, wherever we need it. When we're thirsty we drink; when we need to shower we turn the handle. It's rare that we ever question or think about the safety of the water we use. Many of us may not think twice about dumping the last bit of bottled water down the drain. We take water for granted every single day of our lives.

Now imagine having to walk for miles, EACH DAY to get fresh water. Worse yet, think about having to walk miles for water that comes from a polluted, trash-filled water hole. This is the reality for many villages in Zimbabwe.

Last spring Tyler and Ashleigh had the unbelievable privilege to travel to Zimbabwe to visit a close friend. The journey was lifechanging, and they returned to Ohio knowing that they wanted to help this wonderful, beautiful country and the amazing people that call it home.

Not long after their return to the U.S., we randomly (truly by chance) learned about Living Water of Ohio - a nonprofit organization here in Ohio that provides communities in Zimbabwe with safe drinking water by installing boreholes, also known as water wells (pictured below). Started in 2013, the organization has provided clean water to over 30,000 people. Needless to say we felt it was more than just coincidence that we came to learn about this organization.

Each borehole project costs approximately $5,000 to install. If we can help just one village gain access to clean water we would be making a difference in hundreds, possibly thousands of lives. If we raise enough funds for multiple wells think of all the lives we could impact.

Members of the fundraising group plan to make a trip to Zimbabwe later this year with Living Water of Ohio, which is a 501(c) (3) organization, to assist with borehole installation & setup. We'd like to install as many wells as we can during our time in the country. The individuals that make the trip will be financing their own travel. This means that all money we raise through this site will go directly to Living Water of Ohio to purchase all the supplies needed for the boreholes, hire local workers for installation, and bring clean water to communities desperately in need.

A sobering fact: One out of every five deaths of children under the age of 5 is due to a water related disease. This year alone, 3.5 million people will die because they lack clean water, sanitation, and proper hygienic practices.
We can help change that! We can't think of a more basic, worthy and better cause.

Every dollar helps and those who can donate $100 or more to our cause will get a video montage of the work that was done in Zimbabwe, the people who benefited, and the joy it brought to their lives.

We hope this finds everyone well. Thank you for opening your heart to those in need.

Sincerely.
