This gofundme request is to seek your much needed financial assistance to help me to launch one of the most comprehensive animated historical book series (comic book form), in history. African American history will be richly and expansively laid out in a format known to thrill and captivate young audiences. All stories are told in a spectacularly colorful written and animated style. I hope to ensure that the rich and true history of African Americans continues to be accurately passed on to the largest amount of people in American history.
To complete this wonderful endeavor, I very much need you to help me, so that I may hire top notch animators, writers, historical consultants, and to print, bind and ship the series, (among many other needed expenditures). Your donations, both large and small, will help support operations and marketing. My immediate need is to hire illustrators and web designers to post a website and make it operational.
Positive cultural identity can increase achievement, motivation and self esteem in African Americans. It is statistically proven that when children see their own faces reflected, in positive ways, they too will seek to emulate those characters. This entertaining, animated, historical series will capture young imaginations, give them aspirational role models, instill greater self esteem, as well as educate. Children will delight in seeing characters such as Denmark Vessey, Harriet Tubman, Mary McLoud Bethune, Frederick Douglas, Nathaniel Turner, Malcom X, Charles Drew, Martin Luther King, Colin Kaepernick, Bree Newsome, Arthur Ashe, Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey, etc., colorfully come to life in this rich series. The presentation of African American history in comic book form, helps to remove the tedium and formality of the learning experience. Sometimes, we have to trick the kids!
This innovative and informative comic book series will build upon the stories of the past by introducing our youths to our rich Black history from the times of the original Black human through the building of the pyramids, enslavement, emancipation, civil rights movement to the present. Let's take this journey together!
