Bisexuals make up to 52% of the LGB community, yet most LGBT organizations often have $0 of their budget going towards bisexuals. PAVES hopes to change the lack of support for bisexuals. 100% of your donations go towards improving bisexual's+ lives through representation and visibility.

Being gay or a lesbian within the LGBT community is to be supported. However, bisexual often means it is hard to get support from the both average person and the LGBT community. The community that is meant to support bisexuals ends up hurting them further.

Biphobia and bi erasure are huge problems. Bi erasure is the belief that bisexuals do not deserve equal status or inclusion in the gay or lesbian community or that people can only be gay or straight. Biphobia is similar to homophobia. Biphobia is aversion toward bisexuality and bisexual people as a social group or as individuals. People of any sexual orientation can experience or perpetuate such feelings of aversion. Biphobia is a source of discrimination against bisexual people, and may be based on negative bisexual stereotypes or irrational fear.

Pansexuality is the sexual attraction to people of any sex or gender. PAVES is trying to raise awareness and acceptance for both bisexuality and pansexuality.

Bisexuals and pansexuals are more likely to:

- Been told by straights, gays, and lesbians that their sexual orientation isn't real, is just a phase, that I am confused, or is being greedy.

- Have no representation in media by characters that are proudly bisexual

- Have people tell them their orientation is based on what gender they are dating.

- Be abused, stalked, or raped

- Have PTSD

- Be paid less

- Being fired for being bisexual

- Deal with the assumption that they spread and are more likely to have STIs

- Deal with a bias in research on bisexuality

- Deal with the assumption they can't be a responsible parent

We have a wonderful donor who is willing to match any donation from now until Pride! Now is the best time to donate as your donation will be doubled. Please donate and help us out or share with all your friends.

We have most things taken care of but still need help with getting a trailer for the parade, reserving a room for our youth 101 education program, flyers, maybe even balloons to make it easier to find our booth, and maybe even a balloon arch.

We already have a booth for this year, but are still trying to save up for a spot in the parade. The past two years we have been in the parade we have gotten to see what a difference representation makes. Bi+ people previously left out of the parade have their faces light up when they see they are represented. Representation in the parade helps to fight bi erasure and bi phobia and prove that yes, bisexuals do exist and deserve to be as proud as anyone.

We are keeping things simple this year and not building a float. However we will still need money for an application fee, to rent a trailer, and get lots of bi+ balloons to stand out! Please donate if you can and if not, share and come March with us.

We raised enough for the application, but still have a ways to go as far as raising money for the actual float.

Support us by donating or sharing this page.

Thank you!

Thanks to everyone we have raised $329 on GoFundMe and $130 in cash! We have enough to put in an application for the parade and to get started on our float, but we have a long way to go.

Thank you so much for supporting us and I hope you will continue to and encourage your friends to help as well.

If you want to help with the float or be in the parade please message me.
