Beta for Andrew Weishar Foundation
This Account is for the members' of the Sigma Rho (Illinois) Chapter of Beta Theta Pi philanthropy; The Andrew Weishar Foundation.
The AWF is a 501(c)(3) certified non-profit organization whose mission is to provide immediate resources to families with adolescents or young adults stricken with the burdens of cancer. The AWF has professional partnerships with Advocate Hope Children's Hospital, Advocate South Suburban Hospital, as well as the Cancer Care Center, and uses these partnerships to reach as many people as possible.
The AWF was created in 2013 by its President/Executive Director Daniel Weishar, in order to honor his older brother Andrew, who passed away after an inspirational three year battle with colorectal cancer at the age of 21, in October of 2012. Danny, a sophomore at Illinois at the time, and a friend of Beta, set out to honor his older brother's one wish; to pay forward the kindness and generosity his family recieved throughout his battle. The brothers of Beta Theta Pi Sigma Rho have set out to help Danny achieve this mission.
In addition to our annual Beta Bags event, we are seeking to collect monetary donations to further support the Andrew Weishar Foundation. We thank you in advance for your support.
