Benefit for Sherry
Donation protected
On July 20th, 2013 at Elma Meadows (specifics to be posted soon), there will be a benefit held for Sherry Kroczynski who, just over a week ago, was afflicted by a combination of Legionaire's Disease and pneumonia and had to be rushed to the hospital where she was put into the ICU in a medically induced coma which included the paralyzation of her body. For 5 days, her family and friends waited for a sign that she was going to recover. Finally, the doctors were able to bring her out of the coma and get her started on a long road to recovery.
Sherry is an amazing woman. She's a wife, a mother and a grandmother who is loved and admired by everyone who comes into her life. The mutual adoration she shares with her grandchildren Ashlyn, Cassidy, Cole and Madison is evident even by a glimpse of them together. She loves having them over for sleepovers, and especially baking with them. Hopefully the day that can happen again will be very soon.
Aside from being an amazing grandmother, Sherry is also a huge part of her daughters' lives. She's with them through all the good times and especially the difficult times in their lives and Shannon and Kelly have not left her side since this began.
There are two certainties in all of this: A long road to recovery and mounting medical bills which all of us know can be daunting in a time like this. Insurance only goes so far and covers only so much. This cost of her treatment is an amount that none of us would be able to handle easily.
Her husband Scott and her daughters Kelly and Shannon are arranging this benefit which will include food, music and a basket raffle; the baskets being prepared and donated by family and friends. The family would love to see you there. If you can't, and you still want to help, this online donation site has been set up for that reason. Many friends and family are out of town and won't be able to come to the benefit. Any little bit will help, be it $5, $10, $20. Anything you can spare, and if you can't that's ok as well, just please keep Sherry in your thoughts and prayers.
All the prayers, thoughts and positive vibes that everyone has been sending over the past week are appreciated by the family more than you can know. The visit, the texts, the Slurpees and the support have shown them that they have some truly amazing people in their lives. Sherry is not a woman that would ask for help. That's why her family is doing it for her. Again, every little bit will go a long way to helping her family with the encumbering medical cost that is before them. It's also guaranteed that Sherry and her family will pay it forward.
