To Hagerstown and Back with Benjamin.
The Call No Parent Wants To Answer!
On January 19th we received a call no parent ever wants to receive. Valley Health, Winchester Medical Center was treating our son, Benjamin, and when they attempted to intubate him the ballon burst causing respiratory arrest. They made a second attempt to intubate him; resulting in cardiac arrest.
After 20 minutes of CPR they called us asking if they should continue or let him go. "We are ministers of life so do whatever it takes for life!" We told them. After 5 minutes they found a pulse!
We told them we were on our way. They said "take your time, we don't expect him to be here (alive) when you arrive." Our reply, We declare 'Life!'"
Packing 4 children, contacting my employer, making arrangements for our dog, and getting ready to travel to Winchester, VA became our top priority! When we started our drive, I turned on our radio and "Speak Life" was the 1st song playing! Isn't our God awesome!
As we were traveling they needed to perform an emergency tracheotomy; this surgery took 2 hours. When we arrived he was with seizures every 20-30 seconds...fever...tubes everywhere...
What did we do? We began to pray, praise, and declare "Life!"
After 40 days it is now time for us to decide where Benjamin will go for his long-term recovery. It will cost nearly $50,000 US to transfer our son to Hickory, Ohio. This is only 1.5 hours from our home and where our support group lives.
This is the short version of our rollercoaster journey over the past 40+ days...
Thank You for your sacrificial giving helping us move our son, Benjamin, back to Ohio!
Larry and Ana Walters.
Abba he is in Your hands...
We believe You are not finished with Benjamin. And we believe in the promises you have given concerning his healing.
Until then we watch and pray...
However, we will!
When we walked into his room his eyes were wide awake, and his head followed his momma's voice.
Others were praying that there would be evidence of a further healing. A look in his eye, a touch from his hand, or a kiss for his momma...
His nurse let us know that he started smiling recently. We were able to see him give his smile!
The time has passed so quickly here... And yet the time with Benjamin...it seemed that time slowed down for just a few moments... Blessed to have a small Torah study with Ben... To engage him in an eye blinking conversation...
Tomorrow we will head for home. I'm sure hearts will be full of emotion. Not wanting to leave... Yet having to leave... Knowing he is getting better however slowly yet we have had our hope strengthened.
Still he is far from whole... And far, too far from home.
In Christ Alone,
Larry and Ana Walters
Benjamin is still in Hagerstown, MD... 5.5 hours away... I cannot speak for my bride... I cannot tell you what is in her heart... I can only speak on my behalf.
Yahovah has not changed. Messiah Yahshua is still the Anointed Prophet, Priest, and Eternal King. He is in compete control. The enemy can do nothing without His permission...
And He has declared to each of us...
"2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you."
And again in Mark 16:15-18,
"15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."
So I am standing only upon the Word of Yah. All else is not of Faith... And whatsoever is not of Faith it is sin.
With that said, I am still a father whose son, Benjamin, is in the fight of his life. Even as I stand in faith, there are moments full of tears...praying for Abba Father, to stretch forth His hand and confirm His Word and heal our son.
Would you stand with us? Will you pray for Ben's healing again today? Would you take your prayer to the next level and fast, even for 1 meal a week until be is healed?
And would you stand beside us financially as we prepare to go visit him? It has been 4 months since our last visit...
Our last trip cost nearly $1200 with the repairs needed for our vehicle. This trip, even if it is for 2-3 days we will rent a vehicle... We are a family of 6...
Again, thank you for your prayers and support!
In Simple Obedience,
When the Dr wanted permission to stop cpr after 20 minutes. They were 8 minutes away from life. We were told not to rush. He would not "be there" when we arrived.
They had no hope.
As we attended meeting after meeting they tried to prepare us for Benjamin's untimely death, because they had no hope.
But, our hope is not in man, medicine, or technology. Our hope rests completely upon The LORD our God. In Him do we place our trust.
Over and over David asked himself, " Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance." Psalm 42:5
Again we read, "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God."
Psalm 42:11 & 43:5
Our hope is in God alone. All others will fail us.
Thank you for you prayers, love and support as we walk through this valley of the shadow of death.
Our son is alive and He will live life to its fullest for the same God Who sparred his life is also the same God Who will heal him! For He always finishes what He begins!
In Simple Obedience, We Hope,
Larry and Ana Walters
