Belize Primary School Supplies

The Holy Family Primary School in Hopkins, Belize needs supplies for the wonderful students and teachers. I have recently had the pleasure of observing the classes at the school and was impressed with the efforts of the principal, teachers and students. 

Picture yourself as an educator...you have 20-25 students, one small chalkboard, limited chalk, limited or no textbooks and no copy machine on site...and yet you are facing increasing expectations as in the US. When I asked teachers what they needed, they asked for things like flash cards, a chalkboard with a preprinted grid, educational posters. I would like for us to support them and want to raise the funds to purchase these items for donation.

Here is the list of items that teachers requested. As you can see it is rather modest. 

Gridded chalkboards
Language Arts flashcards
Wall charts/poster for all subjects
Manipulatives
Reading books - classroom sets
Phonics flashcards
Copy machine and supplies
Supplemental books for all areas
Educational games
White boards and markers
