We all do it. We take for granted, the fresh, clean water that comes out of our taps every day. We use it for drinking, bathing, cooking and cleaning.

What would you do if one day, it was no longer safe? If the very water you need to survive is poison. What if it wasn't just your house, but everyone in the neighborhood, all of the homes and businesses in the city?!

Exactly.

Water is important for life. It is an absolute necessity and no one in America today should be without it. 

Water is the most important ingredient in beer too! That is why we, the Oregon Brew Crew, have formed a coalition of home brew clubs, breweries, home brew shops and water companies to raise awareness of this crisis and real monetary assistance to those folks who need it on the ground in Flint, MI.

The Oregon Brew Crew is the oldest and largest home brew club in Oregon. Our mission is to educate home brewers and the public in brewing fantastic craft beer. Many of our members and local commercial brewers are from Michigan and would like to help the folks there.

We pledge that all of the proceeds raised will go directly to benefit them. We are speaking with the United Way about how we can coordinate with them  on the ground in Flint to best support residents.

We plan to help solve the need by providing 15gal reusable kegs or 5gal water jugs  to be lent to the residents who need them. These will reduce the plastic waste that is currently being generated by bottled water.

Finally, we hope to begin a systematic program of repairing the pipes in people's homes as quickly as we can to solve the problem once and for all.
