Bailey and Trevor have been together for one and a half years and are expecting their first child. The responsibility of becoming parents is both daunting and exhilarating. They have been working hard to prepare for their new arrival, who is due next March.

But at Bailey's most recent ultrasound she received some bad news. Her baby has been diagnosed with a rare birth defect called gastroschisis, in which the baby's intestines are developing outside its body. This is a worrisome complication and she has been referred to a high-risk specialist for the duration of her pregnancy.

In addition to the usual medical costs of pregnancy and the expenses of raising a baby, Bailey and Trevor are facing a six-figure bill for their newborn's surgery, followed by a lengthy stay in the NICU.
