Autumn Laine Paul

At 12 weeks gestation I found out our little Autumn had something called a cystic hygroma (fluid filled mass) growing from her lymphatic system. It was so large that it basically surrounded her whole body. The dr told us that Autumn would not live past 16 weeks due to the severity of the mass and if by chance she did she would most likely have a chromosomal abnormality. At 16 weeks she was still fighting for her life and the cystic hygroma had shrunk a considerable amount. By 19 weeks I had an amniocentesis performed which told us that our princess has Trisomy 21 otherwise known as Down Syndrome. We later found out that she has a heart defect known as complete AVSD or complete AV canal defect. She will face open heart surgery at 4 months old to repair 2 large holes and a moderate pda. The dr said she could be in recovery 10-14 days possibly longer if she has a tough time recovering. The hospital she is getting surgery at is 3 hours away from home so in order for Autumns daddy to be able to stay with us during surgery and recovery he will need to take off work with no pay. We have set up a fundraiser selling tshirts as a way to raise money for being away from home and work so if you would like to order a shirt or just donate that would be greatly appreciated. The shirts are red and has Autumns' heart beat with a heart then the words "My heart beats for Autumn" the back will say "Prayer Warrior". The shirts come in youth sizes as well as adult sizes S-6XL. The cost of the shirts are $12 I will be putting in an order Tuesday 9/6 and can possibly make a second order if we have enough that still want a tshirt and missed a deadline.
