Help Astrid the Hawk on Leg Surgery
Hello!
My name is Alia, I am a young falconer and freelance graphic Artists. I take the time to present my 4 birds to demonstrate the public audience about birds and how important they are. These birds play a huge important role in the wild, and sadly not many survive on their own habitat due to the huge increase of developments in their environment. By demonstrating my birds to others, the public can understand just how much we need them.
I'd like to introduce you to one of my birds, named Astrid. she is a 6 month old Ferruginous Hawk that is Indigenous to Canada. Astrid is the largest hawk species known, and she plays an important role to the public about how important her race is. Their species are in threat and population, But she is in need of help...
Unfortunately on October 21st, 2015 - she was rushed to the emergency veterinary clinic. Astrid was showing signs of limping with one leg and having troubles moving.. When rushed to the hospital, we were proceeding to take X-rays, when the results came in we were given the bad news; Astrid badly fractured her leg.
Without any hesitation, Astrid was immediately placed into surgery. She has successfully made through the procedure, but now the following 3-4 weeks is a huge struggle as she is required constant care and watched throughout the whole day in case something goes wrong. It will not be easy paying for her vet bill... Thing's have turned sour over the past few week's and here's to why...
I have been recently forced to leave my current job in Aviation. After being unemployed for 2 years due to a severe vehicle accident back in 2013, I've been left with permanent conditions for life. Today I am struggling to look for a new job. Not having those abilities any more, my chances have been slim with very little luck. All that I survive now is freelance artworks. And even with freelance artwork, there is no guarantee to a great success.
There is only a certain amount of time before the Hospital will be requested for the payment. I am thankful that they are willing to wait a period of time for me to find a way of paying her vet bill. But that period of time will not last forever...

So, will you help her? Updates on Astrid will be given on a daily to weekly basis as well photo's to give you the opportunity to be on the journey with her to recovery. She means a lot to the public, and unfortunately educating the public about the birds cannot cover the vet bills.
