Assistance for Alexia

My 17-year-old daughter, Alexia, has been struggling with her health for the past three years. During this time, we have taken her to numerous specialists in several fields in town and St. Louis and had every test imaginable done on her to find out what was wrong with her. We couldn't seem to get any answers to her illness. After complete frustration, we took her to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota a couple of weeks ago and found out she has Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, POTS for short. This means that her autonomic nervous system is completely dysfunctional. So for Alexia, functions that the body does automatically, like blood circulation, heart rate, digestion, bodily temperatures, etc., does not work properly at all. Therefore, she is constantly lightheaded and suffers from daily migraines, limb pain, concentration problems, digestion problems, memory loss, fatigue, and a plethora of other symptoms. She is currently only able to attend half days at school, feels miserable all the time and not able to enjoy any other activities at school, like her senior classmates. We are currently working on a treatment plan for her with the hopes she will feel better by graduation.
It was also recommended that we return to Mayo Clinic for three weeks to attend the PRC program. This program is specialized for POTS patients to help them deal with daily pain and give them tools to maintain a better quality of life. If this happens we will be incurring even more debt.
Having a chronically ill child is really draining, but even more stressful is the financial situation we are in due to the medical bills for all her treatments. We are currently struggling to pay our bills due to all the medical bills we have incurred over the past three years. Mayo Clinic is a wonderful place and I recomend it to everyone, but the extensive testing comes with a hefty price tag. We were already behind paying our medical bills when the week-long Mayo Clinic trip was scheduled and now we do not even see the light at the end of the tunnel, but you will do everything for your children's health and well-being.
We have always been private people and I would not ordinarily ask for assistance. I try and take care of my own. However, it has gone way beyond anything that I can handle on my own. If you could help us a bit, my family and I would be ever so grateful. Thank you so much!
