Art Miles Mural Project

$9,895 of $20,000 goal

Raised by 35 people in 15 months
HELP US STAY AT ARTIST ALLEY AND SAVE OUR LEASE AND OBTAIN THE MATERIALS WE NEED TO KEEP THE FIRST MURAL MUSEUM IN THE WORLD OPEN! WE NEED IMMEDIATE FUNDS TO KEEP US IN ARTIST ALLEY AND OCEANSIDE WHERE WE DO GREAT WORK WITH AN ALL-VOLUNTEER FORCE SERVING OUR COMMUNITY.

This GoFundME was created for the Art Miles Mural Project.

Urgent Funds to Benefit:  More than 500 clients and participants in mural projects that heal and provide activities for disadvantaged children, students, wounded warriors, local service personnel, several refugees, incarcerated youth, developmentally disabled, clients, and the need for minimal payment for instructors and cost of materials urgently needed (canvas, paint, brushes).

We are extremely grateful for any and all donations that will be given.  These will help keep the project alive and continue to share the beauty and healing power of Art.

ART MILES is a PROJECT of Passion and Healing, and when we work with schools in countries throughout the world, whether they are in dirt floored huts in villages, or the most modern facilities one could dream of, ART MILES is there to help art teachers incorporate art into curriculum, including environmental and technology studies, which enhances the students learning despite the lack of funding for arts in most. Moreover, ART MILES is a Passionate Project that wants to see everyone having fun, coming together, learning about each others culture and traditions which can only result in learning respect and understanding that we are ONE HUMAN FAMILY.

Art Miles represent visual messages of Hope and Love and Healing!

Rose out of the need and growing need to bring people together in support of a Culture of Peace versus a Culture of Violence
Happened through the eyes of and from the hearts of CHILDREN that grew up to include adults!
The Art Miles Mural Project with now nearly 5,000 murals painted by over ½ million people from more than 100 countries all addressing social issue themes.

Here are some of the Murals created for/by the Art Miles Project:

YES, we have moved and YES we are excited about your new home for the Muramid Mural Museum and Art Center! We are still located in Oceanside in the historic area right next door to Mission San Luis Rey and the San Luis Rey Bakery. You will LOVE our new facility complete with a parking lot, private restrooms and a future outdoor theater and stage! We have been busy working on the complete renovation of the property. Our thanks for the incredible love and labor of Saul Figueroa and Aki Burkes for all the volunteer hard work! The building is sound and has great kharma and energy. Our team has loved being in the building working on murals even during the renovation. However, we are now in need of continuing funds to purchase the finishing touches - flooring, plumbing fixtures, drywall, paint, and a new ADA certified double door so we can serve ALL our patrons and participants!" Please help us finish the museum!

We also accept donations of in-kind materials if you should know of donors that are willing to provide any of these materials. Please contact muramidmuseum@gmail.com All donations large or small, in-kind or with your generous time helping with physical volunteer work...we will surely welcome and appreciate your support!

Thanks to you we are SAVING AND MOVING the Muramid Mural Museum to a new location! It will be a month or so while we renovate to dedicate an amazing legacy of Art Miles Murals to share with the world. Please continue to support us in any possible way with resources needed to purchase basic materials, e.g. flooring, wall paint, lighting, renovation of back door to accommodate disabled, and lumber to build an outdoor stage for our new location in a beautiful historic district of Oceanside. We are working closing with schools and organizations in response to so many human and natural disasters and need your continuing support to move forward! If financial resources may not possible from our supporters anyone having materials or volunteer time to donate, please feel contact Joanne at muramidmuseum@gmail.com!

Dear Friends, Artists, Poets, Performers and Followers of Art Miles Mural Project and the Muramid Mural Museum and Art Center:
For many years, we have served the local and global community with a 100% all-volunteer staff and there are many of us that are too numerous to thank individually...people like Atsuko and Yasu, Fauzia, Guiseppe, Maria Bader, Jill, Jeanne and My Hero, Ally, Weldon, Marenn, Caymin, Sayuri, Marilyn H., Shannon, Arlene, Louise, Valerie, Aki, Seven, and Makeda, Anna, Mario...omg...way too many to mention as I said...but we need your help now to keep the project moving forward in the museum and beyond as we try to monetize our project to be self-sustaining.

This project started in 1995 22 years ago today....when 10,000 men and boys disappeared from a UN protected village of Srebrenica...a year later, I was sent to Bosnia to work with the widows of the missing men and after a time, began to get so depressed with hearing and seeing the experiences of these amazing women and was advised to utilize my artistic skills by working with children in an orphanage...that's when Fouad and my life changed. Over 350 children from all three entities painted the first mural on a bullet riddled bed sheet...the theme, was Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow...and now, nearly 5,000 murals later with no overhead financial support and a 100% all-volunteer staff, we have pursued our objectives with vigor to promote and support the Culture of Peace through mural arts. Art Miles works...we respond to nearly all local and global human and natural disasters...we all need healing even when we are mere witnesses to the news reports of these disasters....so please, help us keep this going...we are seeking ways to monitize the project with the art that can sustain us and also give back to the community.

Please, on behalf of all we serve, do reach out to all your family and friends, and ask that they give thought and open their hearts to donating any amount because if everyone jumps in to support us...$1,$5 and more will add up and get us where we need to be....With all the human and natural disasters in the world, we can, as always help heal the world!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
