My Daughter's Fight

On 01/19/17, at approximately 12:45am, on a dark, stormy night my daughter's life changed forever!  My daughter was in an automobile accident. She saw the other vehicle and ran to check on the occupant, fearful they were injured or in harm's way.  My daughter recalls reaching the driver, asking if he was okay and even his response of yes, but nothing further. Because at this point, she was struck and ran over by an oncoming vehicle.  

Moments before being struck, her real life guardian angel drove by, saw something wasn't right and ran to her aide; her guardian angel believes it was as she was running to the scene, my daughter was struck.  She was beyond first aide and all that could be done medically was comfort her and keep her safe, as she lay in the center lane of I-80 west, feet from our exit. My daughter was on her way home from working a 9 hour shift, had dropped off her co-worker and was minutes away from home when the worst possible tragedy happened To our family. 
God held her close that cold, windy, rainy night and continues to!  Thankfully my daughter doesn't have brain, spine or organ damage; nor does she suffer from internal bleeding. She was in ICU for more than a week, then critical care for nearly a week, she remains in the hospital today, 02/06/17.  She underwent 11 surgeries in 14 days. The surgeons, nurses and staff did everything possible to save my daughters life, and did.  She lost so much blood on the highway and operating room that night.  Not only did they save her life but they worked to save her leg.  The doctors trying to save her leg, took veins from her good leg and transplanted them in her other leg in an attempt to save it.  They did successfully get blood flow, but they could not get it to return.  Eventually, they performed an above the knee amputation.  Her last surgery, as recent as 4 days ago, after several more attempts to keep the knee, was below the knee amputation.  The infection seems to be controlled now and there is no more  dead tissue or dead muscle.

We are reaching out in hopes of receiving financial support, to cover the unexpected medical bills, pay for the home medical equipment she will need, help pay for prescription medications, as well as routine living expenses.  Since my daughter has been in the hospital, I have managed to work a handful of days and had to leave early for most.  I am a consulatant and do not earn money, if I do not work.  My daughter, Antoñetta, is newly hired, and does not receive compensation or qualify for assistance either.  Her Jeep was totaled, we had to pay the tow company to sale the vehicle.  I have been living out of the hospital with my daughter, barely able to leave her side.  We still do not know what the future medical plans are, other than the obvious need for a prosthetic. She is strong, fighting like a warrior and determined to get back to being fully independent.  My daughter has a big heart and loves people, babies, animals, nature, beaches, hiking and climbing.  It was her concern for another, which resulted in her partial leg loss. We are a humble family and hate to ask for help, but we don't know how we will make it financially otherwise and had to put it in Gods hands! We want to thank all of our close friends, family,  extended family, churches, countries, families, strangers, etc, for the undying love, support and prayers.  Please continue to keep us in your prayers.  

We have begun making necessary modifications to our home, for her return, but do not have the means to pay for the majority. Honestly, our living conditions are not the best for my daughters recovery.  We do not know where she will be going, upon her release from the hospital nor when we will be able to fully return to work.
