Lending Hands for Ansley Saunooke!

Ansley 's fight continues.  She is a cancer Warrior...she is a brave, brave little girl. She continues her fight but smiles against adversity and has sprit like no other.

I've heard the expression, "Cancer never sleeps"... It's true.  Especially, for the Mom's & dad's of cancer warriors. They put on brave faces themselves as they try and stay strong and united for all of their kids while the stack of medical bills that they racked up since this roller coaster ride began last September sit there & the collection calls continue to come in.

For those that don't know them.  Here is the story in short..Due to their recent move for a new job (independent contractor, no benefits) and the fact that our kiddos are American Indian (this REALLY confuses insurance companies!!) they struggled with a different kind of fight...an ill child and no insurance.   They scrambled to get insurance in place but after 20+ phone calls & a child who clearly wasn't getting better, they knew reagrdless that they had to have Ansley seen by a Pediatrician(even though 2 Urgent Care clinics had sent them home saying "she has a viral infecion.") they remember the look on the Pediatrician's face  when they got the heard the results as though it was yesterday...The next 10 days were a blur. In-patient at Rady Children's Hospital racked up a quick $110,000 in medical bills...(One dose of a particular chemo, "Peg" on Day 4 was $64,000 alone!) By the end of the first 30 days (induction) they were faced with $300,000+ in medical bills. If you know anything about insurance, you know coverage is not immediate. Geoff was finally able to cry, beg and plead with an agent to bind our policy THE DAY AFTER initial hospital admission (Sept. 25) yet benefits didn't kick in until 11/1/16.  After meeting their deductibles for the year, $13,000 (which we met by March) they were stil responsible for 20%. And let me tell you, it adds up fast! (Remember the $64,000 "Peg"??)

Maybe you don't have deep pockets. I totally get it. But maybe you know someone who does. Or maybe THEY know someone who does. (Mark Zuckerberg, where are you?!)

If this wasnt enough, the two of them are  driving around in cars with their family with more than 120,000 miles on each where the the check engine light just doesnt want to seem to stay off.  Of course, what they really want right now is to make the daily (medical) bill collection calls go away! I can't tell you what it's like to hear them go through this. It is draining on them on every level. It is indescribable. I hope you NEVER "walk a mile in their shoes".

They love & appreciate all those who have walked beside them though during this incredibly difficult journey. They have a long way to go.  Ansley will continue in treatment until January 20, 2019... yes, 2019! BUT... SHE IS A FIGHTER! She is a WARRIOR! She brings joy, light & happiness to every day & everyone she touches.

Please, please help in any way that you can.  Please share this on every page, with your friends, family, co-workers and/or perhaps your car salesman?!?(have to try right?!?).

Thank you deeply from all of us!
