We are all 100% volunteers. No salaries, no pensions. As a group of volunteers we've managed to save over 14,000 dogs and cats in just four years! Animal Aid USA now desperately needs your help to expand its existing animal sanctuary in Southern Georgia! Our existing outside rescue operation currently holds about 95 rescued dogs and cats. As our rescue animals are held outside there is no AC in the summer and no heat in the winter. It’s not an ideal situation but it’s far better than the animal’s original fate. Since we save an average of over 250 dogs and cats per month we need your help to expand immediately! To do this, we will expand in two phases:
Phase 1: The new inside facility will have climate control and house over 200 dogs. Our Expanded medical facilities will include a larger veterinary clinic for spay and neuter, separate housing for expecting mothers and for mothers with puppies. The new kennels will be beautifully laid out with kennel openings that lead to a courtyard customized with a large doggie pool and fresh grass for playtime for adult dogs. This play area will also enable Animal Aid USA volunteers to interact and bond with each adoptable rescued animal.
Phase 2: The second phase is the creation of a cabin-themed village where visiting volunteers can stay for a few days. While at Animal Aid USA’s sanctuary, they will have the opportunity to meet and interact with their potential companion shelter dog or cat. This will include Veterans suffering from PTSD and parents traveling with their children who have been bullied or abused. We expect most to leave with a new family member that will forever change their lives.
Animal Aid USA works with many partners. One such rescue partner is, “Pets Plus, Natural.” This chain of pet stores now adopts out between 100-200 dogs and cats a month, all from our facility. They are the first pet store chain to adopt rescued animals vs. buying them from puppy mills. This is a a growing trend which aims to put puppy mills out of business and drop the euthanization rate of animals.
Animal Aid USA will be expanding. We will soon be saving dogs and cats from Miami, Florida. Other cities are on the horizon. Since 2012 to date Animal Aid USA has saved over 14,000 dogs and cats.
We are a 100% volunteer organization. Established in 2012 as a 501c3 non profit. 100% of all money raised goes to saving dogs and cats. We find animals from kill-shelters as well as animals who have been "dumped" on the side of roads. These animals find their way into loving homes via our large network of rescue groups and volunteers.
Animal Aid USA President and Co-founder Lorenzo Borghese and Co-founder Karen Talbot are on a mission to make the USA a Zero kill nation.
Each month volunteers from Animal Aid USA drive 1,600 miles from NJ to Georgia and back in order to rescue dogs and cats from various high-kill shelters. We simply take the supply to where the demand is. We pay for the care of these animals which includes spay, neuter and whatever veterinary assistance is needed. The dogs and cats are then loaded on caravans and driven to the tri-state area where local non profit rescues and privately funded adoption facilities in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania take them in and find loving forever homes. None end up in line waiting to be euthanized. This is their second chance.
PHASE ONE: FOUR BUILDINGS- $300,000
Animal Aid USA would like to build The Animal Aid USA dog and cat sanctuary which will include a Puppy Pavilion in Georgia, where spay and neuter is not implemented and laws protecting animals are rarely enforced. This would be the ideal paradise sanctuary for dogs, cats and people.
We are planning to have four facilities. This includes three different kennels for adult dogs. Each kennel will house 16 dogs. The fourth kennel will be a Puppy Pavilion which will be used for pregnant mothers and their puppies. The facilities will be climate controlled and include an outdoor pool and play yards for adult dogs.
A live “Puppy Cam” will constantly film our adoptable dogs and be viewable to the world via live streaming and social media.
PHASE TWO - The Tiny Village of Animal Aid USA- $200,000
The Village will house medical staff, veterinary tech interns, and various staff members in ten cabins. The cabins will also house disabled, special needs, Veterans who suffer from ptsd, families who have children that have been bullied as well as virtually anyone that loves animals and wishes to volunteer. This gives people a chance to interact with the dogs and cats, bond with them and hopefully go home with a new family member!
A total of $500,000 must be raised to reach this goal.
