Angie Lucero and Baby Ledger

After much anticipation, Mike and Angie Lucero were blessed to bring a beautiful baby boy into the world.
Ledger Lucero was born prematurely on February 10th, 2017. Weighing only 3lbs 7oz. He was promptly taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where he would receive the care that he needs.
During this time Angie had contracted RSV. For Ledgers safety, she and anyone who had come in contact with her were not allowed to physically see Ledger. The nurses in the NICU did their best to ease the separation of Mom and baby by texting pictures of Ledger to Angie.
Angie was eventually discharged from the hospital and sent home to rest.
A few weeks later, her husband Mike noticed that she seemed excessively tired. He felt like something wasn't right. Following his instincts, Mike took Angie to the emergency room.
Angie's blood pressure was found to be extremely low. The doctors thought that Angie was undergoing a massive heart attack which led to further testing.
That night she was lifeflighted to Salt Lake City where she was diagnosed with heart failure. Her heart was not able to pump adequately to deliver oxygenated blood to her organs. She is currently on a heart and lung bypass machine as professionals determine whether or not her heart has the ability to recover.
Ledger is still in the NICU, over three hundred miles away from Angie. He is doing very well and growing stronger every day. He should be released soon, but Angie will be in the hospital for a while.
The stress of the situation cannot possibly be expressed. Many friends and family are watching closely, Sending thoughts and prayers to both Mom and baby.
This fund is intended to ease the financial burden of this family. It is my hope to give them one less thing to worry about in a time of great need.
The money will be used to cover surgical costs and hospital bills for both Angie and Ledger's stay in the intensive care units.
