Albrecht Free Clinic

Donation protected
In 1947 Doctor James E. Albrecht graduated from medical school and shortly after became the first anesthesiologist for Hartford Hospital. In 1983, Dr. Albrecht became the 2nd largest employer in Jackson by running a clinic out of his own two story home. There he helped uninsured and under-insured individuals and families with medical problems as well as medication. Services were provided by trading goods, such as patients would bring the doctor a dozen eggs or do household chores in order to get services. Dr. Albrecht also was the individual who provided Washington County with their very first Ambulance and to ensure safety for all patients he trained and educated the West Bend and Kewaskum Fire Department to help out.

In 1996, Dr. James E. Albrecht founded the Albrecht Free Clinic where today we still continue on his mission and goals to the residents of Washington County. It is with great honor to say that The Albrecht Free Clinic continues to provide free medical care to uninsured and underinsured residents of Washington County, Wisconsin. In 2014, we served over 800 patients with 2,030 patient visits. Approximately, 65% our patients are chronically ill while the other 35% visited us for acute care issues. Our healthcare providers, nurses, and volunteers donate their time and expertise in order to successfully improve the quality of life and health for our patients. Without their commitment and the gracious generosity from supporting community partners, businesses and individuals, Washington County residents may not have anywhere else to go to receive adequate healthcare.

On December 1st, 2015 it is Giving Tuesday, which is a Global Day dedicated to giving. Last year, 30,000 organizations in 68 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. The Albrecht Free Clinic is going to participate in this Global Event by asking our community to help raise funds for the clinic so we can continue to do what Dr. Albrecht has done for many years, provide medical and dental assistance to those in need. This is a one day fundraising campaign and our goal is to reach $20,000 within that 24 hour time frame.
