We all know how important education is for a society’s growth and development as a whole. According to UNESCO, The gross enrollment ratio percentage of female students in Afghanistan for tertiary education in year 2018 was around 5.09% and 14.58 % for male students. Which is not enough when compared to the number of students that only complete their secondary education. There are few issues that could be the reason for this including the social and cultural structure for women and poverty and lack of resources for the students to be able to continue for their education. Especially due to the fact that Afghanistan is an agricultural country and all the urban and rural area citizens actually secure their living by the agricultural means, most of their work force are busy working in their farms and providing for their families and therefore are unable to sponsor their expenses for a tertiary education.
However, the new generation have a thirst for education and knowledge and if given the opportunity, they can explore their potentials, learn, teach, and help their families as well as their country become less dependent and more open to positive change and a better place to live for upcoming generations. There are a lot of female students who are willing to come to Kabul the capital city to obtain their degrees, but they neither have enough funding and financial support to pay the university tuitions, nor they have place to live and this results to them just studying until high school and leave it to that. We are planning to raise money to help the girls who are committed to study and have higher education from private universities in the capital city (Kabul) from rural and far away provinces of Afghanistan like Kunar, Nooristan, Badakhshan, Daikundi and Etc. If you each sponsor one girl to complete their higher education, you would be part of the change in women’s status and role as well as a more prosperous Afghanistan for everyone.
