Abigail's Medical Bills
Abigail, however, will have to live with the wounds he caused her for the rest of her life. She underwent facial reconstructive surgery today (October 31st) and her and her husband, Erich, will need all the help they can get for medical bills.
Please help out our sister. She has a long road of recovery ahead of her and we want financial worries to be the least of her concern. Abigail is a loving wife, daughter, sister and auntie. She did not deserve this!
Our family wants to thank everyone for their support in this difficult time.
Please continue to pray/have positive thoughts for Abigail. She had a seizure last night, but we are hoping that won't be repeated. Her eye is going to need to be removed here soon and she will be getting a prosthetic eye.
Our family can't thank everyone enough for all the support. Here's to good thoughts for Abigail and Erich this week while they rest. Abigail is reading her Facebook messages if you want to send her your well wishes.
She ate more soft foods today and even got up and walked around a little. Her husband brought one of their cats to visit Abigail. Sweet Pea was happy to see her mama and Abigail was happy to see her baby!
The Ophthalmologist told Abigail today that they don't think she will ever regain her eyesight in her right eye and that a prosthetic eye would be something to discuss for the future.
Thanks from the bottom of our hearts for all of your prayers and support for Abigail.
They took her off sedation today and she is awake and talking. She remembers everything. She is unable to see out of her right eye and doctors are uncertain whether or not she will ever be able to see out of that eye again. She was having problems hearing out of her right ear, but doctors believe that will get better over time. She will need to be on anti-seizure medication for the rest of her life due to the bullet fragments in her brain.
She is still in ICU and will be for a few more days. But she was able to drink some water and have a little bit of apple sauce, so that's good! We are so thankful for all the wonderful doctors and nurses and any other hospital staff who have taken care of our sister and shown our family such kindness and compassion.
For anyone who personally knows Abigail, she most certainly has the same humor she had before. Thanks again everyone for all your support.
Just saw your story on Fear thy Nieghbor. Then I researched you and I sit here in tears of respect and amazement. You are one of the most amazing women I have come across!
Abigail, wishing you all the best in your continued recovery. You and yours are in our thoughts and prayers.
Glad to see her treatment is going well and she is starting her path to recovery!
As Abigail's mother, I am truly touched and overwhelmed by everyone's outpouring of love, compassion and generosity. I feel so blessed that God not only spared Abigail's life....but that she is also so very much loved. God bless you all .1-1 of 1 comment
