BENEFIT CONCERT FUNDRAISER
April is Parkinson’s awareness month and Abiding Savior Lutheran Church is hosting a Benefit Concert on April 29th at 7:00 pm to raise funds to support Parkinson’s Disease outreach and education.
Parkinson’s disease is a movement disorder that is chronic and progressive.
· Nearly one million Americans are living with Parkinson’s.
· Approximately 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease each year, and this number does not reflect the thousands of cases that go undetected.
· Seven to 10 million people worldwide are estimated to be living with Parkinson’s disease.
Unfortunately, the cause of Parkinson’s is unknown and presently, there is no cure. That’s why Abiding Savior Lutheran Church is rallying this April to raise awareness and funds for a cure.
Parkinson’s has impacted me personally as well. My father suffered from Parkinson’s the last 10 years of his life, and several other close family members and 2 of my clients are currently being treated for Parkinson’s.
The funds raised on this GoFundMe site will be used to defray the cost of putting on the concert. We are looking for cash donations or sponsorships for the items needed for the event:
- 2 round-trip plane tickets
- 2 hotel rooms
- piano rental
- sound equipment rental
- refreshments
- advertising
- printing
- musician's fees
All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center – A National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence, in Phoenix, Arizona.
