Help Sista Jewel and African Soul International fund 20 youth scholarships for inner-city youth in Los Angeles and San Bernardino!!!

African Soul International is preparing for our 4th Annual African Dance Conference of LA and is preparing to offer 20 youth scholarships to youth of South Central to experience African Dance, Hip-Hop, jazz and liturgical classes throughout the year!
We are launching this campaign in hopes that the community will support this bold, brave venture and help us to raise $10k! Yes, its ambitious, yes it’s a risk, but no matter how close we come to our goal, the youth of LA will benefit.

Can you find it in your heart to help purchase a dance class for an inner-city youth to dance with Master Artists from W. Africa? Or to help purchase costuming? We hope so!! Actually, we KNOW so!

WE ARE A 501 (C)(3) ORGANIZATION, ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX-EXEMPT! For more info on the conference, schedule, teacher info and videos, go to www.africansoulinternational.org

African Soul International was founded in 1998 with a specific cause, to preserve and present the beautiful traditions of Africa, in such a way that African children (born throughout the world) can look in the mirror and feel proud, confident and valuable. We've worked with thousands of young people; exposing them to the art, taking them to major conferences, hosting master artists, and teaching them to perform in front of audiences.

We have used our platform to develop positive self-identity, self-esteem, and a positive connection with their African heritage. We believe that when young people feel included, they will contribute to society, pursue a good education, provide for themselves and contribute to community.

Although, our focus is the youth, our programming does not discriminate, as we know that the power of the African Drum brings people together across age, race, religious and geographic boundaries.

African Soul has decided to donate FREE classes, YES FREE classes to these students once a week, but we NEED sponsors so they can continue!
