Whats up everybody? 
My name is AJ Green; I’m 23 and live in the busy city of Las Vegas, NV and you are reading about the AJ EP campaign. So what is the AJ EP campaign? Well, I’m asking all those that can help in anyway to help me raise $26,000 to release an EP (CD). Music has always been a great passion of mine. I’ve been singing since I was 5 years old and started singing in the choir at my church. I grew up watching my grandma and my babysitter sing in church on Sunday morning. I got the opportunity to sing my 1st solo at church and to my surprise received a standing ovation. From that moment on, I knew anything that dealt with music and singing I wanted to be around. I’ve always dreamed of being on stage in front of millions of people. When I was in high school, I became known as “the boy who sings” as I walked the halls.
Having that reputation, allowed me the chance to sing The National Anthem for former President Bill Clinton when he came to my school for a rally for our Senator. After I sang for President Clinton, he approached me and said I had an amazing voice and that my rendition was one of the best he had ever heard.A few months later I received a call to sing The National Anthem again but this time for The President of the United States Barack Obama. When I finished singing I got the opportunity to meet The President and he said I sounded amazing as we posed for a picture. One amazing moment among the many of them in my life was when I got to share the stage and sing a duet with Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson while being accompanied by Grammy Award winner David Foster. Since then, Ive sang for President Obama and First Lady Michelle a second time, sang for Celine Dion, met Mariah Carey and even released an album titled “Whatever You Need” in 2010. I’ve been so blessed to be able to do what I love and touch so many people but the road hasn’t been easy.
When I was born, I was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia; a disease that causes normal red blood cells to become sickle shaped and get caught in the blood vessels causing less oxygen to that part of the body and an excruciating pain. I’ve often associated a Sickle Cell crisis to being 10 times worse than a football player being hit on a field. The pain is so unbearable at times that it renders me helpless until it subsides. I haven’t allowed this disease to surrender me but shape me into the person I am today. I try to be an inspiration to anyone I come in contact with and remind them that no matter what life may bring, you weren’t built to break. I’m still standing and will not allow anything to prevent me from achieving my dreams and one of my biggest goals right now is to share my gift and talent with the world. Although Ive been awarded great opportunities in the music industry that I'm so grateful for, the ups and downs that come along with this business prompted me to venture into becoming an independent artist.
Being an independent artist without the funding of a major record label, projects like mine can be very costly, which is why I need YOUR help. I have a great opportunity to work with some amazing producers who helped out on my last album and I want nothing more than to get back to making great music for the world. Your donation will go toward many parts of this project from: writing, producing, mixing, mastering, distribution, website, music video, photos, and much more. Your donation big or small can make a huge difference in this campaign.
