Ashwaubenon High School Greenhouse
Donation protected
My name is Dan Albrent and I am a science teacher at Ashwaubenon High School in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin. I believe that every student should have the opportunity to understand the power of growing their own food.
Ashwaubenon High School is one of the few high schools in the area that does not have a greenhouse. Students lack opportunities to pursue careers in botany, hydroponics, aquaponics, modern farming, and greenhouse management, along with the chance to learn how to grow sustainable, healthy food. A greenhouse would provide over 1,000 students a year access to fresh greens and vegetables daily in their lunches as well as provide job skills in a variety of professions.
We would need 7,000 to buy and build a year round, heated greenhouse.
The funds would be used to buy a full greenhouse kit that would include all lumber, panes, framing, heating and everything necessary to build the actual structure.
Anything over our desired amount will be put toward purchasing tables, an irrigation system, and hydroponic systems for the inside.
Your support would help us bring awareness to sustainable food issues to over 1,000 students a year.
