ABC--Arts Bring Connection

We are a group of 20 artists and musicians who will travel to Santiago de Cuba in January 2016. We have already made the necessary official and personal contacts to ensure that we will have authentic connections with Cuban people through our common language of music and art. With visits to four music and art schools in Santiago de Cuba planned in advance through the heads of schools, our mission is to take gifts of instruments, strings, reeds and art supplies and to interact with students and teachers. We have within our group professionals in the areas of classical,  jazz, early music, traditional fiddling, and visual art. We will also have a film maker with us who will document our trip. Our goal is to raise money not only to take instruments, accessories and art supplies, but also to present one of the schools with a much needed digital piano, and to provide a scholarship for a conservatory student to travel to Boston for summer study. Each donation of $100 or more will be rewarded with a copy of our documentary film.
