UPDATE: With the overwhelming success of this page so far, I want to let you all in on where we go from here. For those who don't know me, my name is Jessamyn McIntyre, I live in Seattle and work at 710 ESPN Seattle. I do not have a personal relationship with Jon Meis or his family, but was touched by his actions, along with all of you. I have been in contact with Seattle Pacific University, who have notified Jon and his family about your generous support. I will be working with SPU staff when the time comes to close the page.
I am astounded by the response from Seattle, the country and around the world. You have all shown the good side of humanity.

The support you have all shown remains to be overwhelming and inspiring.
In 2005 was the day that I met my loving fiance I wouldn't know that that would be the day that my life was changed she was working at a sub shop and as I came in she was getting robbed at knifepoint my first reaction was to run out but as I look down I can see that she was terrified I had pepper spray and I subdued him intell the police came we have been together ever since the planning on getting married in August of this year we choose the month of August because ironically all of our birthdays are in August and we are Leos who would have thought that you would find your match any and all help will be greatly appreciated
Jon, you did an amazing thing that deserves recognition and appreciation. As much as we would all like to think we would react much the same as you did, the truth is we don't know. It's hard to know unless you are placed there, and while what happened was a complete tragedy, the world has seen the faith inherent at SPU, and the courage of its students. From a fellow Seattle Christian and SPU grad I wanted to say congratulations on a job well done! I wish you and your fiancée all the best. I'm sure it will be a beautiful wedding!
Jon, God Bless you and your family. We are so proud of the way you responded in the face of danger without hesitation. We are praying that you are comforted in the fact that you may have saved many others from being lost or hurt. Many blessings as you move forward with your marriage and new career! Gail, Randy, Haley and Zach (Uncle Mitch's sister and fam)
We are truly amazed by your courage to act in the face of terror but also of your integrity as a man. To show others that true service means to think of others first, no matter the situation, is an inspiration and a lesson for all of us. May G-d continue to bless you and you family and please know you have touched people, including myself, with your strength, honor and humbleness. With much love from Boston, MA
