Willie Royal Caregiver Fund
Willie has been diagnosed with
Alzeheimers Disease for over a year,
and with the progression of the
disease the need for more and more care arises. Social Security Disability pays $342.00 per month ,
The cost of care within the last
10 months is greater than 14,000.00.
His spirit is beautiful and he is living a stress free life at home .
Can Willie depend on help from
Family and friends? (It is understood that not everyone has financial means
to help support the cause.)
Peace to all.
"All The Best "
Willie passed in his sleep early this morning.
Love and Peace to each of you.
We bow inwardly to each and everyone of you who have expressed your love and care through your words, kind deeds and actions.
May all be well and all be with great love and peace.
Willie has been in the hospital for close to a month now (give or take a few days)
A CAT scan has been ordered to evaluate his sudden physical and cognitive decline...
Willie's sister "Isabel" and her husband "Bruce" have come in from California ...and have been of great help and support...Willie is so blessed to have so many who love and care for him.
With Great Thanks and Much Love,
Willie and Alison
A quote from Willie which I wrote down,
This was said by him while sitting in passenger seat of car just a few days before sudden decline..."What I have is "Gratitude"..,Gratitude changes Everything"
This change came on suddenly...whisper prayers and send your love to our dear one.
We thank you for all of your great love and kindness .......
As Willie always said"Nothin worth nothin but Love"....,.,
I have my first Festival/event of the year in 10 days here in Oregon. I am designating a percentage of the sales of my award winning jewelry for the fund AND have notified all friends and followers from Willie & Lobo's days on Maui to help. Willie ALWAYS provided me the friendship and entertainment I desired EVERY time I went out to see them perform on Maui. His music continues to be my "in shop" creative influence every day. I will do my very best to help!!
We are so amazed with the generosity of spirit that has been demonstrated by your gifts and kindness . Willie said "This gives me faith in the human spirit and the love and magic of it all, gratitude goes along ways". With Love and Gratitude, DebWhite,Kathleen Mess And Louise Goldsberry
Is Willie still with us? (I sure hope so) I saw conflicting posts on FB regarding this. Huge fan...started taking fiddles lessons primarily because of Willie's style. He once offered to send me( back in the AOL days) scores at no charge. I've turned many friends around the country on to Willie and they have thanked me for doing so and some actually got to meet Willie. I never had had the pleasure myself and sincerely hope I still may have a chance to. My favorite contemporary fiddle player by far... exceptionally gifted in the fiddle and wonderously gifted in humanty. You go Willie!
I've just heard that Willie Royal of Willie & Lobo passed away a few days ago. His music had and continues to have such a strong impact on my life, and I'd like to pass on my respects to family and friends. I'm so thankful I was able to see them when they came to Portland many years ago - it was an experience I will always treasure. RIP.
Hey Bro, Thanks for all you did for my spirit. You changed me for the better. I know you are getting a cosmic standing ovation for all the great music you shared with us here. Going surfing now, I know thats what you would want me to do. Going to miss you mucho. Much Love, Hans
R.i.P. dear Willie, thank you so much for your music.
Alison, I'm so very sorry. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Bless you.
my dears Alison and Willie...my prayer and heart embrace you at this phase of your journey together. I lived 15 years with my mom as her primary caregiver while she carried the insidious AD on her back. It is a mysterious and greedy malady, robbing us all daily of our peace of mind. I met Willie and Lobo in Port Townsend, WA back in early 90's. Their music has been golden light upon our blurried world over the years, a major component in our natural behavior therapy ( right up there with Dean Martin and Patsy Cline! ) I played them at her graveside last year and continue to find solace in the magic they wove throughout their history. It touched me deeply to know that you two have been soldiering this war together. May angels of mercy keep peace in your time ahead. Blessings rain upon you, dear Alison. Thank you, Willie, for your spirit and flair, your genius and love. Rachael Gabriel
Alison, so sorry to hear this. Will be praying for both of you. Louise
Allison, I just came back from San Miguel, while there I stayed in a Villa at Los Labradores which is 10 miles from San Miguel. They have an Alzheimer's facility there (Cielito Lindo) which provides transitional living or fulltime care for their patients, many expats live there or in San Miguel with their loved ones in the facility. I toured it while there, spoke to many who had family in the facility and all were Impressed with the care provided. It is my understanding that it is inexpensive compared to facilities in the US. As Willie, has such a connection with SMA, I thought it would be worth mentioning if you didn't know about it and might be worth checking out by going online or having Moo Moo go and see it. They have a nice promotional video online.
You might want to pursue a Medicaid waiver for Assisted Living. Likely he can qualify for that. If he doesn't have it complete the application. His care then would be mostly free except for personal items etc see if the home you are talking with accepts Medicaid waivered ALF. Feel free to contact me to talk if u like!!
can't find the video.
When I have alittle time since I'm moving I am going to have a bake sale to raise money for Willie. Plus I work part time at Publix which headquarters are in Lakeland I think they would help as well. These big corporations have money to burn. So I am going to give them a place to put those bucks. Yea!!!
