AstroStarbright Presents #CaptainMarvelChallenge

Hi. My name is Taylor Richardson and you probably already know me as Astronaut StarBright.

In 2017 we were able to successfully do the #HiddenFiguresChallenge and  in 2018 the #WrinkleInTimeChallenge. 

This year I’m joining my friend and creator of the  #BlackPantherChallenge Creator Frederick Joseph to do the #CaptainMarvelChallenge.

Much like the Black Panther Challenge its about letting kids see themselves  represented on the big screen.  And those who know me know I’m all about representation! 

So why Captain Marvel?
●     Captain Marvel is Marvel Studio’s first woman led film
●     Captain Marvel will be the most powerful superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
●     The story adds new components to open doors for the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe
●     Unlike many female characters, her story doesn’t rely on romance and other typical woman character arcs
●     There are multiple female characters in the film that enforce diversity of women in race, careers, and talents
●     The film is co-directed and scored by women
●     The film releases on International Woman's Day during Women's History Month

The funds we raise will help to rent out a movie theater for 100 girls and chaperones. It will also cover the cost of popcorn and a drink. 

And you know it wouldnt be a Astronaut StarBright Challenge without something extra. So kids attending will be able to get complimentary pictures from photo booth. 

Average Cost:

$13.00 each child

$15.00 adult chaperon

$10.00 each for refreshments

$500 unlimited use of photo booth
 

Any remaining or exceeded  funds will go towards  2019 STEM programming/efforts.
