Dempsey's Battle to beat cancer!!

Donation protected
I am a friend of Dempsey and her family. Having met Dempsey at an event i was doing i have come to love her smile, character and fight! Doctors here in the UK have said her condition is 'terminal' and all they can do is offer her chemo treatment to stabilise her condition! However after speaking with her mother and father they have researched and found treatments overseas that may give Dempsey the chance to beat this cancer...I know as a parent myself I would leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of a cure for my children, this is the case with Robert and Lynn. This is where this page comes in, we are hoping with the help of friends, family and the public to raise enough money to take Dempsey overseas to receive one of these revolutionary treatments that COULD with God's will, save her life!
Dempseys story so far.....She was initially diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma Cancer in Feb 2014, aged 5. A rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. She received surgery straight away because the tumour was pressing on her spine & the damage initially paralysed her. She underwent intense chemo, then more surgery.
Dempsey then had to go to America for 3 months for Proton Therapy as there was too great a mortality risk from normal radiotherapy available in the UK & Ireland. She received 30 blasts of proton therapy Mon to Fri, alongside another 6 blocks of chemo which she continued receiving once home.
Doctors are very reluctant to use the term 'remission' when it comes to this very aggressive form of cancer & prefer to use the term 'No Evidence of Disease', rather than cancer free.....as Dempseys case proved!
In January 2015 Lynn and Robert were told that MRI results showed 'no evidence of disease', you can only imagine the joy and relief at this point..... only to be told a few months later in April that she had relapsed, with the cancer spreading to both legs, both shoulders, either side of her pelvis & the disease back in the primary tumour site. The cancer had not only come back but it was everywhere & the prognosis from doctors here in the UK was terminal! As every parent im sure can imagine this news was heartbreaking, but we're not ready to give up on this special little girl....and neither is she, she's been through so much already but if you met this girl she is a fighter, and absolute inspiration!
Doctors are now offering chemo to stabilise the disease, however they feel the chemo she has been getting has more than likely run its course because although most of the tumours have remained stable one at the top of her leg has more than doubled in size since the last MRI.
Lynn and Robert are now faced with a decision to go with another conventional chemo regime similar to what she's been receiving, changing the combination of chemo drugs, but the prognosis remains NO CHANCE OF CURE! Plus the horrible reality of more chemo going into her body which potentially could kill her, never mind the cancer! Hence why they started researching alternative treatments which involve more groundbreaking treatments not on offer here in the UK. However with these revolutionary treatments come a cost....travel, insurance, care, treatment, it's really a last route that can be taken to try and beat this awful disease and give this little girl a future she deserves.
I've set up Dempseys facebook page to make people aware not just of Dempseys case, but the cases of many children in the UK suffering from childhood cancers, the thing being it can strike any family at anytime....not only are we pushing to have these revolutionary treatments available here for our kids, but we're looking to ultimately put an end to cancer altogether!
After speaking to Lynn and Robert and having their blessing ive decided to look into running various types of fundraising events over the next few months. Everybody and anybody will be welcome to take part and any donations would be appreciated more than you will ever know. This can be done through the 'go fund me' page we have set up, or at the events we will post and keep people up to date on through her Facebook page @ 'Dempseys battle to kick cancers butt'. This little girl is a fighter, and deserves every chance we can possibly give her.  We pray for all the help we can get and that anybody that gets involved in any way from the bottom of our hearts.

Feel free to share this go fund me page with whoever you think relevant and help us reach our target. Also please have a look at Dempseys page, give us a like and we hope you find the contents of some help!☺

Thank you,

Lynn, Robert and Stuart
