The Douglas Menegos Memorial Page
On behalf of the three of us, we wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your sincere condolences and generous donations in honor of our loving husband and father, Doug Menegos. Your kindness has changed our lives forever and has given us hope at a time when we needed it the most. As we begin to piece together our lives and attempt to move forward in a way we never anticipated nor should have to endure, we are encouraged by all the love and support that you have shown to us. It truly means the world to us.
Love, Lisa, Kara and Jacob
This Friday June 6th from 6-8 there will be a fundraiser/Benefit for the family of Doug Menegos. This tragic event has touched many people in knowing that a life was taken far too soon.
There will be donation boxes at both locations:
Downtown Cafe & The El Cajon Promenade (Concerts in the Park.)
Downtown Cafe of El Cajon has been so kind to help with this event so people can enjoy the concert and also walk across to the restaurant where they will be serving complimentary light appetizers.
Family & Friends welcome you all.

What a shock to learn of this terrible tragedy. My daughter Alexis played soccer with Kara while the parents 'hung out'. What a special family. We are so sorry for your loss. Our hearts and prayers are with you at this time of grief and pain. All our love and support, Ken & Kristie Facto
My heart breaks for the Menegos family. Douglas sounds like a loving father and to lose one so suddenly and senselessly...there are no words. With love from Va
My heart goes out to the family. I used to work with Lesa at Chem-tronics. I was shocked to hear this terrible news happening to such a wonderful family. My thoughts and prayers are with you!!!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Lisa. May you find comfort in the memories you hold most dear to you. The Waugh Family
I am truly sorry for your loss. My heart grieves with you.
Our family is deeply saddened of hearing that this tragedy was someone we knew. Doug was the youngest of the Menegos brothers. They lived around the block in our Brookside neighborhood. Although we all went our separate ways, in life, we could never forget the childhood memories we, in Brookside, shared. Our hearts go out to the Menegos family. While there is nothing we can say to ease your pain, our hope is that you draw comfort in knowing that many are mourning your loss. Rest in Peace, Doug. The Cohen Family.
I believe because Doug was a IBEW Electrician the Menegos family will receive a 12,500 benefit. Although this will not replace Doug's priceless life, it should help with immediate expenses. I personally did not know Doug but loosing and IBEW brother hurts the same. I spoke with many union and non-union electricians today that knew him and his character was described clearly in their emotions for Doug. Prayers to the Menegos Family.
I've known Doug since he was in his teens wanting to be a jockey. My prayers , heart and love go out to you all. I talk to Mike about a half hour ago. I have a personal check for you and family for 1000.00 to give to Mike to give to you. It doesn't bring him back ,but I hope this will help you through this time of sorrow. If you need anything. Mike will give you my number. With all my love Laurie Springer
I knew Doug and my brother Bobby Cervantes was in his class and was in the same 6th grade class with Nick. We both thaught they were the COOLEST Guys but REALLY NICE guys! I dont think that we had seen him since High School, but some people make an empression on your life. Doug did that. My Prayers for his Family.
My heartfelt condolences on your loss. I had the pleasure of interfacing with Doug as he carried about his business with the Field Engineering office at the City of San Diego. Doug was very well thought of in our Field Engineering 'family', as an honest and hard working individual; a true Professional .... as well as just an all around great guy. He will be missed.
