This is a page that I never imagined I would be writing. I do not quite know where to start, so I will go back to the beginning for those of you who do not know Darcy personally.
Our dear friend, Darcy Quan was involved in a tragic event that occured last week. After enjoying an evening with her boyfriend and a mutual friend on Friday evening at a local venue in Charlotte, Darcy was struck with a stray bullet from an altercation which occured in a near by parking lot. She was innocently enjoying the company of her long-time boyfriend, Tyler, when all of the sudden her life was forever changed.
Darcy was immediately rushed to the hospital with other victims from the scene. She suffered a gun shot wound to the right, lower portion of her face. She is currently stable but in Intensive Care where she will remain until the doctors and surgeons are able to perform necessary surgeries in order to correct the damage done.
While in the hospital she is under the care of her family and her boyfriend who have been by her side since the incident.
For those of you who know Darcy, know that she is a very strong individual. She is fighting through this and continues to surprise the doctors and her family and friends with her infectious humor and positive attitude. She is temporarily unable to talk due to the wounds, but continues to write notes to her friends and family that inform them that she still has the same great spirit despite the trauma that she has endured over the past week.
While some expenses will be paid through her insurance there are many expenses that will remain. She will not be able to return to work for a long time. She will go through a number of surgeries before she is able to leave the hospital.
Darcy is the kindest person that I know. She is so giving and generous to everyone that she meets. She did not deserve this and does not deserve to struggle in order to pay for something that so tragically happened to her and her family. I kindly ask that anyone reading this give anything that they can in order to contribute to this cause. Even if it is $10, if 100 people donated $10 we could pay her rent and bills for an entire month, which is the least amount of time that she will remain out of work. Also we ask that you please share this link and continue to pray for our dear friend.
