Like many people, I was laid off from my job, so I accepted a contract job. When I received an offer for a full-time job, I left my contract job. Then my new job was put on hold for 2.5 months. This left me in the position of trying to cover living expenses without any income (since I left the contract position voluntarily, I am not eligible for unemployment compensation.) My new job is no longer on hold, so by September I should be self-sufficient once again. I also have an elderly cat whose health is failing. She has kidney disease and had a seizure on 08/04. I really need to have her checked out but can't afford to do so. I would be grateful for any help that well-wishers might be able to provide while I get through August.
Unpaid rent from July, rent for August, basic household and living supplies for the month of August, and some vet care for my cat totals $2,800. Any amount donated would be helpful and I would be very grateful. It is my committed intention to pay any donations forward as soon as I possibly can. Prior to this temporary setback I’ve been a regular donor to the ASPCA, disaster funding, family members in trouble, funds for missing children, and the Humane society.
I am 59 years old. I transferred to Boston with my job back in 2016 from upstate NY. I work in computer support. I always give when I can. I give to liberal causes, to disaster funding, politicians I believe in, family members in trouble and fellow Kossacks. One way I'm trying to pay it forward now is by writing blog posts about animal rescues and no-kill shelters in order to highlight those organizations and, hopefully, help them fundraise. When I am in the clear again I will begin giving to the ASPCA the Humane Society, Planned Parenthood as well as to as many people in trouble as I can.
