School lunch lady fight back
I admits I broke the rules, but I'm not apologizing and I would do exactly the same thing again regardless of the consequences.
I was a lunch lady at Irving Middle School. I was placed on unpaid leave Tuesday after I gave a free lunch to a 12-year-old student who didn’t have money to pay for her hot lunch.
I love my job, I really do,This just breaks my heart, and I was in the wrong, but what do you do when the kid tells you that they’re hungry, and they don’t have any money? I handed her the tray.
I'm a Breast cancer survivor, and worked for the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 for the past three years, Last year during an assembly, I got a standing ovation from the students when my name and photo came up on the screen, I love them, and they all love me, too. Ok not to sure wheather or not going to get my job back on this coming Monday... Still feel the same no kids should be told they can't have a hot meal because they don't have money on school account...Going to stand my grounds even if that means no longer working for school district... I plan on using some of the money to put towards some of my kids account that's if they will let me...and any left will help my family and me tell I can figure out what to do next.
