Please help me get back on my feet

I purchased my car a few weeks ago from my neighbor, I'm 34 and just starting to drive (legally) for the first time. Toward the end of September, my beloved wife was struck by a brain aneurysm and entered into hospital care at Legacy Emanuel in Portland. Two weeks later she suffered a second aneurysm and massive stroke during an angiogram, her brain began to swell and the right side of her skull was removed to allow for the intense swelling, and she was placed in a medically induced coma. The doctors informed the family a few weeks later that the entire right side of her brain had died, along with most of her frontal lobes and part of the left side. She would be near vegetative for life, and forever in nursing care. Per her wishes we decided to remove her from life support. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, outside in the sunshine on November 3rd. In the aftermath of this personal tragedy and during I have been learning to drive, and last Friday I passed my driving test. However, on the drive home my engine blasted a hole in the block and my mother in law and I were left stranded on the interstate. My car requires a new engine, and my best option is to replace it rather than attempting to buy a new car from scratch. I need transportation to return to work and with my personal funds dangerously dwindling and financial burdens looming time is of the essence. I am not one to look for handouts, but I've never been against the ropes so severely and I need help picking up the pieces of my life. Any contribution here or consideration is sincerely appreciated. - Bobby
