My birthday divorce

For those of you who know me well, you'll understand that 2015 has been a challenging year for me in many ways. The end of my marriage under difficult circumstances and ongoing dramas associated with this; as well as family health issues, to name just a couple of challenges.  Emotionally it's been very difficult. Mentally it's been a drain. Financially, it's been a struggle too. Throughout these challenges, I've done my best to stay positive, but let's just say I've been looking forward to the new year and hopeful for a fresh start.

I've been thinking about my 45th birthday which is just around the corner; thinking about what I'd most like to do; day-dreaming about where I'd like to be to celebrate the occasion. I have some ideas and, again, for those who know me well, Tasmania is always high on my list.

But what I most want for my birthday is to apply for a divorce. It'll be 12 months since my marriage ended and filing for divorce is something I need to do sooner rather than later to help me move forward. Unfortunately, living on a single income with three kids at school doesn't allow for luxuries such as travel or filing for divorce...heaven knows I can only just afford my wine therapy...

So, call me cheeky, desperate, or shameless and stop reading now if you like. Or, if you were actually sitting there wondering what I might like for my birthday, then please embrace this opportunity to help me celebrate my birthday and start afresh.


The current cost of filing for divorce is $845. It would be great to raise the full amount but any donations will help. Any money raised above the target amount will be put towards my birthday divorce party and you're all invited!!
